Before and After Shots with a sad ending October 4, 2008

Here are some before and after photos of the yard work.  It took FOUR hours to relieve this 2 year eye-sore.

And here is the sad ending as promised.  Due to lack of mowing and upkeep of the common ground hill, our backyard goes like this:

Maddox’s hair cut September 29, 2008

Filed under: Maddox — narfing @ 1:16 pm

The first one is at home obviously.  We went to Des Peres Park for a little while on the second photo.  Here are before and after photos of Maddox’s hair cut.  I tried just trimming the long sides behind his ears, but that looked silly.  So, I gave him an overall hair cut.  It is the same kid!!!  I promise!

Pirate Ship September 10, 2008

Filed under: Maddox — narfing @ 2:22 am

We followed daddy to Lowe’s on Saturday and made a pirate ship!  Everything was in one little bag and with a hammer, we put all the pieces together.  Maddox had a lot of fun.  I didn’t know it was even going to be there – or I would have pictures from it.  I’m not quite sure who had more fun though since I got to bang a nail with a hammer repeatedly.  :-)

Look!  There is even a plank you can walk your gi joe’s on or barbie dolls!  I was quite impressed with the plank actually.  It was quite a simple piece of engineering that made it look like they actually cared when designing the ship.

Pics are SOOC!! Warning, warning.

Oh, there you are.  Where did that random foot come from cutie pie?  Mental note:  use the clone stamp!

Best Curry Chicken – don’t be afraid August 28, 2008

Filed under: Recipe — narfing @ 6:11 pm

When simple and easy meet – it is always good. Here are pictures on preparing the yummiest Curry Chicken recipe ever. And if you are afraid of curry because it is an Indian spice – don’t be afraid. Curry is your friend.

3T butter
2 onions – cut thin
2T curry
4 chicken breasts
salt and pepper
2c chicken stock
2T cornstarch
2T cold water
1/4c heavy cream

Melt the butter and add your onions. Cook 5-6 minutes on medium heat. Then add curry. Turn heat down to low and cook another 3-4 minutes.

Add chicken breasts that you seasoned with salt and pepper. Cook on medium 2-3 minutes (time may vary). Pour hot chicken stock in the pan and boil. Simmer on low 9-10 minutes. Meanwhile combine cornstarch and cold water (you knew it was coming!). Mix and stir in. Stir in the cream and boil. Simmer 2-3 minutes. And your done! Yes, it is very yellow. Add some parsley if you can’t take the yellow. Sorry – no pic of the finished product. We ate it so fast!
